With such a wide variety of tools and tactics entering the walleye fishing world these days, it can be tough to keep up on the latest and greatest techniques. Even the tried and true methods can be a little intimidating to the first timer looking to get into this wonderful sport. If you want to expand your walleye fishing arsenal into some new areas but don’t know where to begin, Tight Line Charters may be the answer for you. We specialize in both river and lake fishing trips using a variety of presentations. Wherever your interest resides, we can tailor a trip to focus on the methods and tactics you want to explore.
By far, one of the most exciting ways to catch walleyes is vertically jigging for them in current and there are few places in the world where this technique is more popular or productive than on the Detroit River. A jigging trip with Captain Dan will expose you to technique, boat control and determining fish location. You'll also be using the latest in tournament tested tackle and equipment, including many custom products also available from Tight Line Tackle.
If your interests are open water tactics, like employing in-line planer boards, dipsy divers, jet divers, bottom bouncers, in-line weights or lead core, a trip with Captain Dan can help you master these presentations from scratch, or refine your existing program – regardless of your experience level. What’s more, any of these delivery presentations can be coupled with crankbaits, spoons or spinners. You can decide, or we can let the fish decide!
Hand-Lining is one of the most popular methods of walleye fishing we have on the Detroit River. It can also be one of the most intimidating to a first-timer. Why deal with the frustration? A trip with Captain Dan will expose you to rigging, how to manage the rigging, how to develop your approach to boat control and many other intricacies of this exciting and productive fishing method. It’s a great way to get started on the right foot.
